Kentucky Butter Cake recipes

simple recipe for Kentucky Butter Cake:

Ingredients:

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

2 cups granulated sugar

4 large eggs

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup buttermilk

For the Butter Sauce:

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1 cup granulated sugar

2 tablespoons water

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). Grease and flour a bundt cake pan.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with buttermilk. Begin and end with the dry ingredients.

Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan and smooth the top. Bake for about 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

While the cake is baking, prepare the butter sauce. In a saucepan, combine butter, sugar, water, and vanilla extract. Cook over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved.

When the cake is done, let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Pierce the cake with a skewer or fork, and slowly pour the butter sauce over the warm cake.

Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan before inverting it onto a serving plate.

Slice and enjoy your delicious Kentucky Butter Cake!

Feel free to customize with nuts or a dusting of powdered sugar if you like. Enjoy baking!
